Alfred Enderby Ltd helps launch International Wine & Food Society
Wednesday 16th Feb saw the inaugural event of the International Wine & Food Society in Leeds. Alfred Enderby Ltd sponsored the event by supplying some of its internationally recognised Grimsby Traditional Smoked Haddock. The event was attended on behalf of Alfred Enderby Ltd by Blue Spire Design who provide design, marketing and promotions for Alfred Enderby Ltd and the GTFS Group.
The event featured star chef Stephanie Moon, from Rudding Park (soon to take part in the BBC’s Great British Menu) and renowned wine writer Christine Austin, wine critic for the Yorkshire Post, who together created a mouthwatering selection – ‘perfect pairings’ – to introduce the pleasures of matching delicious food and wine.
Stephanie created some wonderful smoked haddock fish cakes which proved to be incredibly popular. This confirmed a tribute expressed by then Minister of Food Jim Fitzpatrick at the launch of Protected Geographical Status for Grimsby Traditional Smoked Fish when he said ‘they were the best fish cakes I’ve ever tasted’.
The IWFS event in Leeds promoted regional food from Northern England, aiming to highlight the high quality of locally produced food in our region. As one of the most internationally recognised producers in the region Alfred Enderby Ltd was proud to sponsor the event and ensure that its members got a first class taste of traditional British seafood.
